Portland
Considered one of the most environmentally friendly cities in the world, Portland, Oregon is located in the very green Pacific Northwest. Its nicknames include: City of Roses, Rip City, Stumptown, Bridge City, and Beertown. It was incorporated in 1851 and is home to 95 neighborhoods filled with NBA Trail Blazer fans, brewery & winery enthusiasts, and avid outdoorsmen.
The city averages a high 40.5 inches of rain a year, which does not stop the estimated 582,130 residents from exploring the many parks, trails, and rivers year round. The Willamette River runs through the city which sits only an hour from Mt. Hood, the Pacific Ocean, and Washington.

Beaverton
Located seven miles west of Portland in the Tualatin Valley, Beaverton is a 16.3 square mile suburb. Beaverton’s 88,860 residents enjoy over 100 parks. “A park is located within a half mile of every home and the City features 30 miles of hiking trails and a 25-mile network of bike paths” (Beaverton).
The home of many businesses (including the Nike World Headquarters), their own newspaper The Valley Times,school district, and 13 neighborhood associations. Beaverton is a family friendly, thriving city.
Tigard
South of Beaverton with approximately 47,460 residents, Tigard is part of Washington County and is divided into 13 different neighborhoods. The city has over 300 acres of parks with an array of activities, businesses, andshopping opportunities. Most students attend schools in the Tigard-Tualatin School District, but some in the Northwest section of Tigard are in the Beaverton School District.
Southwest Hills
Nestled between Portland and Beaverton, the Southwest Hills are home to a few suburban neighborhoods. A 10 to 15 minute commute by car to Portland keeps the nearly 6,000 residents close to the city. The homes in this neighborhood are all unique, since most were built one at a time to the owner’s specifications.
Southwest Portland is home to Council Crest, a park at the highest point of Portland, with incredible views of the city, and Washington Park which is filled with hundreds miles of hiking trails.

Raleigh Hills
A neighborhood located in the Southwest Hills that has a classic style of home with larger lots than other neighborhoods in the area, has satisfactory to high rated schools by the Oregon Department of Education. The community has access to many parks, restaurants, and stores.
Multnomah
Located in Southwest Portland, Multnomah is a neighborhood with a variety of home styles that has a small town feel, though only 10 miles from downtown. The centeral gathering place in the neighborhood is Multnomah Village, a business district with small locally owned shops and an annual “Multnomah Days” parade and festival.
Residents are involved in their neighborhood association and are near places including: gabriel park, Southwest Community Center, and the Multnomah Arts Center. Multnomah is part of the Portland Public School District.
Cedar Mill
Part of Washington County, Cedar Mill is a neighborhood filled with homes varying in size–from apartments to highend subdivisions–that lies North of Beaverton and just 7 miles West of downtown Portland. The ~12,597 residents are a part of the Beaverton School District, and has their own Cedar Hills Business Association.
Bethany
Just 4 miles Northwest of Cedar Mill, Bethany is also a part of Washington County. The center of the neighborhood is Bethany Village which describes itself as: ”an innovative community built around the idea of a small town, blending residential, retail, and professional spaces within a well planned neighborhood where everythign is a short pleasant walk away” (BV). Surrounding the village are highend homes, apartments, studios, and condominiums.
